Welcome
It is with great Bristol Pride and pleasure I welcome you to the 48th Annual Bristol Chrysanthemum Festival. Our
2009 theme is “Mum City Celebrates… “This year’s theme was chosen to celebrate the many reasons why Bristol is such a
great City. Some of the reasons for us to celebrate are the many volunteers that give countless hours to this great
city, our diverse heritages, and our youth that contribute so much to Bristol. This years Parade Marshal was chosen
because of all his years of volunteering for Mum Festival and the Bristol Exchange club, Relay for Life and 60 years of
community service for Drum Corps activities.
As you can see by the many variety of events scheduled the entire volunteer committee has been working very hard to
bring together another great festival. This year has been a team effort and all of the committee members have been great
assets. My special thanks goes the committee, the City of Bristol, The Mayor’s T.E.A.M committee, The Greater Bristol
Chamber of Commerce and all of the area business and the citizens of Bristol for their donations. We could not put on
the Festival without your support. The 2009 Bristol Mum Festival is a tribute to all of you.
